Richard Gyambiby is regarded as one of the most brilliant minds in Ghana’s criminal law practice. Crime of any nature, whether they are financial, economic or complex web of international actors has been decoded by the legal acumen of Gyambiby.
He spent over 17 years at the forefront of Criminal Prosecution working on a vast array of cases including International Cooperation cases employing tools such as extradition, mutual legal assistance and prisoner transfer, having led the International Cooperation Unit of the Office of Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice.
During his time at the Office of the Attorney-General, Richard, who is also a Notary Public, was involved in or spearheaded the formulation and development of several key policy documents including:

Gyambiby has the honour of being selected by the US Department of State to participate in its International Visitor Leadership Programme, which is the United States’ flagship professional exchange programme to deepen ties between the United States and other nations through carefully designed professional visits to the United States based on U.S. foreign policy goals for current and emerging foreign leaders.
Gyambiby has been a member of the Ghana Bar Association for 17 years. He is also a member of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), the reputable global organisation of elite prosecutors, prosecution authorities and crime prevention agencies from about 175 countries around the world.
Gyambiby is a fellow of the Commonwealth Africa Cyber Fellowship (CACF), a fellowship that empowers cybersecurity and anti-cybercrime experts from African Commonwealth countries by providing them with a platform for knowledge exchange, partnership building, and policy influence to strengthen cybersecurity and combat cybercrime across the continent.
Mr. Gyambiby is also a part-time lecturer at the Ghana School of Law and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.
He doubles as a distinguished Trainer for the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime, the world umbrella body that combats the illicit drugs trade and its attendant violent and money laundering effects.
Richard Gyambiby holds a master’s degree (LLM) in Oil and Gas Law from Robert Gordon University where he achieved a distinction in his studies at the revered Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, United Kingdom.
He also earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Ghana, a Qualifying Certificate in Law (QCL) from the Ghana School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Ghana.
Mr. Gyambiby is now studying for another master’s degree in Company and Commercial Law at the University of Ghana School of Law.
Richard stays active with sports, which not only keeps him in shape but also “relaxes his ‘super-active mind’. If he is not running or walking, he is consumed by leisurely reading. He also finds time to watch stage plays like Uncle Ebo’s quarterly plays.
